Sen. Lindsey Graham slammed the Colorado Supreme Court on Sunday for removing former President Donald Trump from the state’s primary ballot, accusing the justices of having a “hatred” for the GOP front-runner and issuing a decision not based in law.

“This Colorado Supreme Court made a political decision. In my view, there is no constitutional basis for the decision they rendered,” Mr. Graham, South Carolina Republican, said on ABC’s “This Week.” “I think it will be a slam dunk in the Supreme Court.”

The U.S. Supreme Court will almost certainly be forced to take up the case now, which is a legal argument based on the 14th Amendment that Mr. Trump engaged in insurrection during the U.S. Capitol riot and is therefore no longer eligible to run for president.

“This ruling in Colorado is chilling to me,” Mr. Graham said. “It would set up a politicization of the presidential races. It would be bad for the country.”
